Fad Gadget (Frank Tovey)

Fad Gadget aka Frank Tovey was the first signing to Daniel Miller’s Mute records and released their first single “Back to Nature” in 1979 closely followed by “Ricky’s Hand”. Their first studio album ” Fireside Favourites was released on the 7th November 1980 and peaked at No.7 on the indie charts. He subsequently had a further 3 studio album releases as Fad Gadget the last one being “Gag” released in February 1984 and reaching their highest place in the indie charts at No.5. He then proceeded to have a further 6 studio albums (the final 2 as Frank Tovey & The Pyros) the last one being “Worried Men In Second-Hand Suits” released in October 1992. Frank sadly passed away on  3rd April 2002 from a heart attack.
